Chapter President elavated to Western Regional VP

Good afternoon,

Dear friend I have exciting news to share about the future of the Las Vegas chapter of Young Professionals. First, it has been my pleasure to serve as the founding president of this great chapter. We have delivered numerous quality programs to the community, had memorable experiences, built great community partnerships and forged new friendships. I want to take this time to thank you for your support in making this an awesome chapter.

With that, I am pleased to announce that I have been appointed to the position of Western Region Vice President to serve on the national board for the National Urban League Young Professionals. ( Please see the attached memo from National YP President Barton J. Taylor). I am the successor to Darrell Procher in San Diego who has done an outstanding job. The VP position is a two-year term effective immediately.

My immediate move ushers in another wonderful development for the Young Professionals right here in Las Vegas. Please join me in welcoming Alex Dixon as the new president of the Las Vegas-Clark County Urban League Young Professionals.

Alex is a director of planning and analysis for Harrah’s Entertainment. In this capacity, he manages the financial forecasting and capital allocation processes for three casinos in the Las Vegas and Laughlin markets. Alex is a graduate of Howard University and is married to Yindra Dixon. He is the proud father of three children, Alex Jr. and twins Parker and Peyton.

You will receive more advisements on changes and developments with the chapter. Some adjustments may be made to how you receive communications and where you can send inquiries. That information will be made available to you in the very near future.

Meanwhile, given that I have your attention, I am going to leave you with a few quick announcements and a video from our national conference that captures a hint of the essence of what being a YP is all about. To see the video, click Urban League Young Professionals The video was produced for the YPs in partnership with Scripps Howard communications agency.

Again, it has been a pleasure to lead such an outstanding organization of young people in this community.
Yours in the Movement,

Tanya P. Flanagan
Western Region Vice President

National Urban League Young Professionals
